Today, Dick at Manten Marina let us know that at our new Yanmar 80hp Motor had finally arrived.
It had been delayed as the gearbox had been sent late and this added an extra month or so to have it shipped from Europe to Durban, trucked to Cape Town to meet the motor. Fitted there and then trucked to Manten Marina.
Dick kindly sent some pics:
Over the last month we have been battling to fit, two new windows, which first time I screwed in the toughened glass and shattered them. The second attempt was to glue them in with windscreen adhesive. Alas the glass had now been cut too big and so it didn't fit. This coming week we will try again after the third re-cutting of the two forepeak windows.
Also we have finally, (almost), finished glassfibring out the forepeak shower. Our sander, Abel, will go to sand all the glassfibre work down to a smooth finish later this week. Then finishing touches of the glass fibre and fitting of the toilet mounting. I have been making a glassfibre mould for the toilet mounting at home. Then more sanding to get the perfect finish before painting. This should give us the perfect wet room with it's own sump.
We have also been working on the further gutting of the interior, which will, I'm sure soon need a video update.
